The Chick Corea Elektric Band: Live at Yoshi’s

Last night I joined a group of friends in Oakland, CA to see, what I think might be, the most amazing musical performance I’ve ever seen…The Chick Corea Elektric Band. This is a fusion jazz band that I grew up listening to in junior high and high school. As a lifelong drummer, I was quite excited to see Dave Weckl play with Chick Corea (keyboards), Victor Wooten (bass), Frank Gambale (guitar), and Eric Marienthal (saxophone)…what a lineup! Absolutely amazing show! Victor and Dave work insanely hard throughout the entire performance, and I would have to say that Victor has complete command of the bass. He owns that bass. I mean, honestly, this guy can make the bass do his taxes. FYI: Chick is pretty goofy.
